We have many opportunities for undergraduate assistants.
Students frequently begin work early in their stay at CMU and remain with the project through their matriculation.
This permits them to develop an in-depth understanding of their research area and frequently provides real world motivation for their coursework.
They even get paid sometimes.

Analysis of limonene in ozone from orange peels (really...
that is my experiment) In addition, still getting familiarized
with the lab and assisting others with various experiments.

As an undergraduate in the lab, I perform many various tasks
ranging from performing experiemtents to hiking to Mellon to
get supplies or photocopy articles. My main interest is figuring
out what my main interests are.
